Roland Chip Resetter

Description

The Mimaki resetter is capable of restoring all Mimaki OEM chip data completely. Both on DS2430 devices and DS2431 devices. Not only can it restore data but it can also restore the chip to another colour, model and ink capacity in its class. If you are able to source printer ink from an alternative source other than the OEM, then this device is a must to have. Re-cycle the use of your printer chips. On OEM devices the laser-etched serial number has a limited life cycle, but when using the resetter in conjunction with compatible chips made by SmartChip Technologies, a set of chips can be used indefinitely.

The resetter is powered and driven by a regular USB port and is commanded by a dumb terminal program such as Putty or HyperTerminal. Dumb terminal programs are generally free and easy to install. The resetter itself contains the algorithms to re-generate the data for each reset. The user simply chooses the model and capacity in advance and then chooses the specific colour to reset with a single button.

The device is field upgradeable through a bootloader so the newest chips released by the OEM can easily be amended to the resetters ability.  It is safe to assume the resetter may outlast the printer itself.
