This chip’s reset is limited as the serial number is laser etched and cannot be changed. As long as the chip is used on a different printer it could be reset indefinitely. For a full reset feature, consider purchasing the SmartChip Technologies Resetter along with a set of SmartChip Technologies compatible chips where serial numbers can be changed. This device has no limitations and can be reset indefinitely as long as the chip is used in a different printer. See Resetter for additional information. The device uses is a single DS2431 chip.

Chip Club. A group of users using the same brand of printers collect used chips and swap them out/trade them with one another. The object is to gain access to chips that were not expired in their printer that can be reset and used indefinitely this way. Savings on acquiring chips can be significant and the supply of chips is endless.
